Description
he Pearson Camp is a very primitive camping experience which has been designated a Hunter's Camp. Located on U.S. Hwy 167, the easy access to the camp and to the National Catahoula Wildlife Management Preserve make the Pearson Camp a very popular camp during hunting season.
Pearson Camp is very conveniently located along east side of Highway 167, approximately 3 miles north of Williana, Louisiana. This campground is within 1.5 miles of the Wildlife Check Station. This campground area allows primitive camping (meaning no water or electrical facilities) but has a vault toilet for campers.
In the past several years the camping loop road has been upgraded or reconstructed so that passenger cars can access the camping sites. We have a "quiet time” established for all campers which runs from 10 pm to 6 am. That means fellow campers with generators should respect this rule, for the benefit of everyone. No hunting should take place within the recreation area boundary, which has a blue-painted boundary and warning signs posted on the perimeter. NO Off-Highway Vehicles are to be ridden through the recreation area.
We ask that all garbage be removed from site and deposited within garbage dumpsters during the deer hunting season. Off season please pack-in/pack-out your trash. For the past several years the Grant Parish Police Jury has provided a garbage dumpster during hunting season and provided weekly pick-up service. Please do not place nails in trees to hang or tie-up items.
