Louisiana's second-largest city and capital, Baton Rouge, isn't all business - catch a few historic sites but then beat a retreat to a nearby bayou or Mississippi River casino boat.
Welcome to the Rathbone Mansions Esplanade, our two charming Historic District Landmark Homes. Both of our Inns are located on beautiful Esplanade Avenue, amongst the ancient Spanish oak trees and 19th century Creole mansions. The Vieux Carre, or French Quarter, is just a short walk from our front door. Immerse yourself in everything the French Quarter has to offer , from the bars of Bourbon Street, to the elegance of the Royal Street antique shops. Cafe du Monde, the mighty Mississippi River, world-famous New Orleans cuisine, and all that jazz are just steps away! The Rathbone Mansions Esplanade are two lovingly restored antebellum mansions. We offer our guests warm southern hospitality and authentic New Orleans atmosphere. Breakfast is served daily in the Grand Parlor of the Mansion at 1244 Esplanade. There is also a complimentary wine & cheese reception each evening for our visitors. The Mansion at 1244 Esplanade also features our brand-new sparking pool and hot tub, available to guests of either property, and poolside cabana and bar. Enjoy watching life go by on stately Esplanade Avenue from the large front porch featured at both properties. We look forward to welcoming you and making your New Orleans visit everything you expect it to be.
