Lower Caney Lake Boating

A modern paved boat launch area inside the Caney Lakes Recreation Complex on the Caney Lakes Unit in the Caney Ranger District. Lower Caney Lake is a 250 acre reservoir that provides a scenic setting for a wide variety of recreational opportunities. There are two separate boat launches on Lower Caney Lake. One inside the Recreation Complex and another outside.

Lower Caney Lake has two separate boat launch areas. The first is within the Caney Lakes Recreation Area Complex at the day-use facilities. The second is on the opposite side of the lake outside of the Recreation Complex.

 Some More Things to Know

Visitors to Lower Caney Lake can enjoy the modern day-use recreation facilities in addition to boating while in the Caney Lakes Recreation Complex or they have the option to launch their craft from the boat launch facility on the opposite side of the lake.

Paved boat launch with loading pier and separate fishing pier. Ample parking is provided along with restrooms and trash receptacles. The launch within the Recreation Area is in between the day-use area/swim beach and the ski beach/picnic area.





 Directions

From Minden, take Louisiana Hwy 159 north to Webster Parish Road 111. Turn left (west) on WPR 111 and go 2 miles. The recreation area entrance is signed and the fee station is just inside the entrance. Follow the entrance road straight to the stop sign, turn right and go to the end of the road where the boat launch is located.
