Description

The Catahoula Ranger District has a number of trails for visitors to utilize. From OHV trails in the Camp Livingston trail system, the Stuart Nature Trail, to the Glenn Emery hiking and biking trail. Scenic forest views await the adventurer who travels the trails.

Additional Details:

Visitors to the Glenn Emery hiking and biking trail can expect a very easy 2.4 mile trail that has end points at the Stuart Lake Recreation Complex and at the Pollock Community Sports Complex. To get to the sports complex, travel to Pollock, Louisiana and take Louisiana Hwy 8 west from Pollock to just past the elementary school and the complex entrance will be on the left. To get to the Stuart Lake Recreation Complex, take LA Hwy 8 west from Pollock 1.4 miles to Stuart Lake Road and turn left. Go one mile to the entrance road of Stuart Lake and turn right. If you are camping, take the first road to the right. If you are just using the day-use facilities, go straight to the day-use parking area. Stuart Lake Recreation Area is a designated fee area.

The Stuart Lake Recreation Complex is equipped with restroom facilities, trash receptacles, water, picnic areas and barbeque pits, swimming, fishing, camping, an open air amphitheater, group picnic shelter and the Stuart Nature Trail and the Glenn Emery hiking and biking trail. Visitors should be aware that the Stuart Lake Recreation Complex is a seasonal recreation area and should contact the Ranger District Office for more information. Generally, the area opens in Spring and closes in the Fall.
