Coyote Camp

A Primitive camp inside the National Red Dirt Wildlife Management Preserve.

The Coyote Camp is a primitive camping area within the National Red Dirt Wildlife Management Preserve. Restrooms are provided. This camp is a designated Hunter camp and has OHV access to the Sandstone Trail.

 Some More Things to Know

Visitors to Coyote Camp can enjoy an out-of-the-way camping area within the National Red Dirt Wildlife Management Preserve. Although this camp is a designated hunter's camp, it can be utilized year around by general forest visitors. Very primitive site with limited facilities.



 Directions

From the intersection of I-49 and Highway 6 (Natchitoches), drive west on Hwy 6 for 4 miles. Turn left (south) on Louisiana Hwy 117 and proceed 16 miles to Forest Highway 59, Longleaf Trail Scenic Byway. Turn left (east) on FH 59 and go 9.5 miles to Forest Road K18E. Turn left (north) on K18E and go 0.3 mile to the camp.
