Corney Lake North Shore Boat Launch

Corney Lake is a beautiful 2,300 acre lake offering scenery from bald cypress and tupelo gum bottomlands to breezy pine hills. This is also an excellent area for fishing and waterfowl hunting. The Corney Lake Unit has three available boat launch areas, two for Corney Lake and one for Corney Bayou. The south shore boat launch has just been updated with paved parking and access facilities.

 The Basics

Location: On Corney Lake Unit
Region: Kisatchie National Forest
District: Caney Ranger District

 Some More Things to Know

Visitors to the Corney Lake north shore boat launch can enjoy the beautiful 2,300 acre lake via a primitive boat launch area that includes picnic tables, a vault restroom, trash receptacles, and limited parking. Visitors that decide to use the north shore boat launch instead of the more updated south shore should know the road is primitive gravel with some rough spots. If you are traveling in a motor home, pulling a travel trailer or using a vehicle that was not made to endure rough roads, this road is not recommended, except at the boat launch loop, there is no turn-around available.

 Directions

Directions to the south shore boat launch facility, from Homer, Louisiana take Louisiana Hwy 9 north 18 miles to the recreation area sign at FR 900. Turn east onto FR 900 and travel just over 2 miles.
