Bucktail Camps

The Middle Fork Unit of the Caney Ranger District has only two designated recreation facilities. Both are designated hunter's camps and are opened year-around but only maintained for the hunting season.

Visitors to Middle Fork's Bucktail Camp and Turkey Trot Camp should expect very primitive camping. Both camps are designated hunter's camps which means they are only maintained during hunting season. They are, however, open year-around and can be used by all visitors.

To Bucktail Camp, travel north on Louisiana Hwy 520 and turn east onto Forest Road 913. Bucktail Camp will be on the south side of the road.
