Bankston Camp

The Bankston Camp is a very primitive camping experience northeast of the town of Williana, Louisiana. This camp is located just outside the borders of the Catahoula National Wildlife Management Preserve.

Bankston Camp is the only Hunter Camp (of the 4) located outside the Catahoula National Wildlife Management Preserve boundary by a few miles. This recreation site offers a primitive camping experience, meaning no water or electrical facilities are on site. There is a vault toilet for the convenience of the users.

In the past several years the camping loop road has been upgraded or reconstructed so that passenger cars can access the camping sites. We have a “quiet time” established for all users which runs from 10 pm to 6 am. That means fellow campers with generators should respect this rule, for the benefit of everyone. No hunting should take place within the recreation area boundary, which has a blue-painted boundary and warning signs posted on the perimeter. Riding Off-Highway Vehicles is prohibited within the recreation area. We ask that all garbage be removed from site and deposited within garbage dumpsters located in numerous road intersections throughout Grant Parish. Please do not place nails in trees to hang or tie-up items.
